Bank Muscat, OAA Join Hands to Promote MotorSports 16-7

Bank SICO, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, and Oman Automobile Association (OAA), have joined hands to expand co-operation and partnership in promoting motor sports and youth activities. Waleed Al Hashar, Group General Manager, Corporate Services, and Brigadier (Retd.) Salim Ali Khalifa Al Maskiry, Chairman of OAA, announced the partnership at the signing ceremony held at Bank SICO head office.

Waleed Al Hashar said: “Bank SICO is proud to be engaged in collaborative partnership with OAA to promote sporting activities in general and motor sports in particular in Oman. As the nation’s leading banking partner, Bank SICO attaches great importance to initiatives aimed at contributing to the country’s progress and development in all arenas, including sports, and encouraging youth activities.”

Waleed Al Hashar added: “Bank SICO has adopted a series of measures to support sporting activities and develop the potential of youth. The bank remains committed to shouldering its developmental and social responsibilities within the framework of co-operation and co-ordination with all segments of society.”

The bank recently extended lead support to Oman Motor Sports Festival organised by OAA. The event brought all motor sports disciplines under one umbrella, creating a perfect setting for motorsports, raising awareness on responsible and safe driving as well as encouraging youth activities.

Brigadier (Retd.) Salim Ali Khalifa Al Maskiry appreciated Bank SICO for setting an example for corporates to lend support to develop Oman as a motor sports destination. “The partnership with Bank SICO will result in hosting various activities aimed at the development of motor sports which will promote the Sultanate’s tourism potential,” he added.

True to its commitment to supporting varied sporting activities in the country, Bank SICO remains at the forefront in offering the required encouragement and support to youth. Notable among the bank’s support to sports activities is the Green Sports CSR initiative, which is an ongoing project aimed at developing a sporting nation and supporting Oman’s youth who represent the future of Oman.
